The EmerAid Critical Care diets were developed by a panel of critical care veterinarians, exotic animal veterinarians, emergency clinicians, and nutritionists to meet the important nutritional needs of ill and recovering animals. Each formula is composed of basic building blocks of nutrition, allowing animals to digest and absorb the nutrients faster and easier. They contain high-quality ingredients with balanced sources of vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, nucleotides, and other dietary nutrients. EmerAid is a powder that is mixed with warm water for syringe feeding and tube feeding.
The EmerAid diets are separated into 2 different formulas.
- EmerAid Intensive Care diets are designed for critically ill and debilitated animals, and to replenish depleted energy, fat, and protein stores. All Intensive Care diets contain hydrolyzed proteins, highly digestible fats, and simple carbohydrates.
- EmerAid Sustain diets are designed for recovering animals, supporting chronic or acute health conditions, transitioning from a critical care diet to normal feeding, or for long term feeding.

Is a Prescription Required?
EmerAid Intensive Care formulas are therapeutic diets that require a prescription because your veterinarian must monitor your pet’s condition and dietary needs. These diets are designed to be used with the expertise of a veterinarian and have modified levels of vitamins, minerals, and other ingredients that benefit animals with specific health conditions. The diets are also intended for supplemental or intermittent feeding only. It is important to discuss your pet’s health with your vet to see if a therapeutic diet is appropriate.
