Wasn't convinced it was doing anything but I was wrong
From Half Moon Bay, CAComments about Visbiome Vet Probiotic for PetsThe vet recommended this for my cat's gut issues, and as we went through the first jar I wasn't convinced it was helping because we were still seeing problem results in the litter box. But when I allowed the jar to finish and didn't re-order right away, we very much saw a decline in, shall we say, his output quality. I don't like the cost of anything these days, but I'm convinced this is worth it. -

Q & A
-
I've been giving my 10 lb cat 1/2 capsule per day for several years. He's just started on antibiotics (amoxicillin) which usually give him bad diarrhea and stomach upset. Would it help to increase to a full capsule while he's on antibiotics? I know he should have a 4 hr gap between visbiome and antibiotic?
-
Antibiotics such as amoxicillin are prone to common gastrointestinal side effects such as upset stomach and diarrhea due to the disruption of the intestinal microbiome. It is recommended to give the antibiotic with food to help ease gastrointestinal distress. The manufacturer does not recommend the use of Visbiome while taking antibiotics because certain antibiotics can inactivate the probiotic. However, supplemental probiotics may be recommended during a course of antibiotics to offset the loss of healthy gut bacteria and ease gastrointestinal upset. Please consult with your veterinarian for further questions or concerns regarding this supplement for your dog.

9/27/2020 Bought Visbiome on Friday in San Diego. Vet did not mention refrigeration. I live in Los Angeles, and returned there Saturday morning about 10:00. The indoor temperature was about 80 degrees most of the day and night-time temp was in the low 70's. Is the product still good? When the boxes were given to me, they were not noticeably chilled.?
-
Visbiome should be stored under refrigeration. According to the manufacturer, Visbiome Vet is stable at room temperatures for up to a week without affecting potency. You may consider consulting with your veterinarian if you have more specific questions related to how the product was stored prior to purchase.

Our vet at veterinary university of Georgia prescribed it to our cat who has intestinal inflammation. We should give her half of each capsule and add it to her wet food once a day.
