Eye Care for Senior Dogs
After my senior dog had eye surgery, his opthamologist recommended that I insert the gel into both his eyes twice a day to prevent them from drying due to age. That's for the rest of his days. The cost at the doctor's is $18 a tube, which lasts a month, but I can get this product through VetRx for about half the price. I order a few months' worth to get free shipping, too.

What is the difference between Optixcare and Optixcare with Hyaluron? The one from my vet does list Hyaluron in the ingredients. Does Optixcare have no Hyaluron? Or does the one with Hyaluron have just more Hyaluron? Just not sure which one to purchase. Package looks the same?
-
Both are similar products used to lubricate the eye. Optixcare with hyaluron is the product packaged in the purple box, while Optixcare available without hyaluron is the product in the green box. Hyaluronan’s main function is to retain water. The addition of this ingredient may help retain water in the eye. Please ask your veterinarian about any further questions you may have regarding this product and your pet.

Is it ok to use this product if it's expired 2 years until I can get to a store to purchase more??
-
It is recommended that medications not be used after the expiration date as the potency and sterility of the medication can no longer be guaranteed. This is especially important with ophthalmic medications as infective organism growth may occur inside the bottle which may lead to an eye infection after administration.
