Good product minimal side effects
My Great Pyrenees hasn't been getting this for 6 months. Great alternative to Atopica and keeps her from smelling "musky" due to allergies.
Most Liked Negative Review
It used to work :(
The first time I got this drug (and it was HARD! My own vet couldn't get it), it worked like a charm.
So I'm not sure what the deal is, but it's not working. My vet asked me if I noticed it not working in which I said yes...she said that she'd been seeing that a lot. Told me to give 2 (5.4 mg) if I felt I needed to.
So that leaves me wondering since it was in such high demand, has the formula weakened to accommodate the masses? For the expense of this drug, it is NOT CHEAP. I expect it to work. Not very satisfied.

Apoquel is FDA-approved in dogs for the control of pruritus (itchy skin) associated with allergic dermatitis and control of atopic dermatitis. It works by inhibiting cytokines which are thought to play a role in inflammatory, pruritic and allergic processes. If your dog is licking her paws because they itch, Apoquel may help reduce or stop the licking.

What are the side affects to the dog with this medicine??
-
Apoquel is FDA-approved in dogs (at least 1-yr old) for the control of itching of the skin associated with allergic dermatitis and control of atopic dermatitis. Oclacitinib is a new drug so it's adverse effect profile is not fully known. Most common adverse effects are vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, increased thirst and lethargy. Potentially severe adverse effects include susceptibility to infections, neoplasia, and skin disorders. You should contact your dog's veterinarian if any of these severe adverse events occur.
