Effective for long eared dogs
From Williamsburg, VAComments about Zymox Otic Enzymatic SolutionWe have tried many products to remove excessive wax and debris from the ears of our long eared dogs. If the ears are not red and inflamed (in which case we use Zymox with Cortisone), Zymox Otic clears up the wax build-up quickly and comfortably for our dogs. Voila: happy dogs with clean ears.
Q & A

What does the package insert mean when it says, "Apply once a day for 7 days, 14 days for chronic infections."??
-
This is an over-the-counter cleaning agent that is used to aid in the prevention of ear infections caused by bacteria and yeast. This product is not an antibiotic and is not meant to take the place of a treatment prescribed by a veterinarian. The number of days this medication is to be used depends on the type and severity of infection. The manufacturer recommends for infections that clear up quickly, the medication can be used once every day for 7 days. If the infection persists and is not fully healed, the medication is safe to use for another 7 days(14 days total). Please speak to your veterinarian to determine if Zymox Otic without hydrocortisone should be used for your pets situation.

Is this safe for pregnant dogs??

We are using this product from you. WHEN do we get to clean the black debris out of our dogs ears? ?
-
Kaetie, According to the package insert you should not clean the ears before or during treatment with Zymox Otic Hydrocortisone Free. The treatment duration can last anywhere from 7 days to 14 days depending on how long the infection has been present. After the treatment is finished a flush is recommended to remove any residual product and accumulated dead skin cells. Zymox Otic Hydrocortisone Free can be use for an extended period on persistent cases. If you are using this product for an extended period or the debris does not easily resolve, your veterinarian will be the best person to help with the debris removal Thank you, VetRxDirect
