No more of vet's torture-needles
Terumo needles are civilized, even though our cat "Asi" isn't :)). She does growl a lot less with Terumo, size 20, then she did with the monojet, sz. 18. It's not just the size issue (in fact I may go back to the larger 18 since Asi is Type A--always having other things to do), but Terumo's simply slide in faster and with much less pain. For a nearly 19 year old cat who's always been a bit negative (continues to growl, spit and carry on when brushed out, after all these years) --we appreciate Terumo. They turn down Asi's volume and intensity. I've only done 8 sub-q's so far, who knows with more practice (for us both) perhaps she'll start purring.

NOT the same as Terumo's ULTRA thin wall needles!
Recently purchased the Terumo 21G x 1" needles to use when giving my senior cat with chronic renal disease her subQ fluids. For 25+ years, I've religiously used Terumo's ULTRA thin wall needles because they glide easily and smoothly through the skin upon insertion. They are the sharpest needle out there! But when I went to use the first one out of the new box, I knew something was very different! The needle was not nearly as easy to insert into her skin. And upon insertion, I could actually feel the skin tear! I was horrified that I put my petite Himalayan through that. It was then that I realized that the new needles were regular "Thin Wall" needles, rather than ULTRA thin wall as shown on the box in the listing photo. I feel the photo is misleading and should be replaced with what is actually being shipped. I simply do not believe the two types of needles are the same—either that or I got a bad batch of needles! Either way, I wasted my money as I refuse to use them. Don't want to put my cat through that again. I've got a stock of 20G UTW on the shelf, so we will just have to use those.

My 18 years young kitty, named Happy, has CKD and is just the best! He's such a good sport, so patient and trusting with me. He's been through so much. Loss of hearing, loss if one of his eyes, loss if his sisters, and now CKD. Even though he hates his supplements and fluids, he's got such a wonderful attitude. He's a great communicator, he's sensitive yet resilient, extremely loving, and super smart. Even though it's not always pleasant, he takes this CKD stuff all in stride, and is just the sweetest cat I've ever met! That's saying a lot because I've had and have a lot of cats. He's such a good baby boy and no one loves me like Happy does. Happy is a good influence on me and teaches me a lot. He keeps me positive and helps me keep my problems in perspective. I'm so lucky to have him!-

From UndisclosedComments about Terumo Needles 18 gauge, 1 inch, Thin WallWe have a older cat that has kidney issues--after a trip to the pet ER where she was on fluids ---picked her up next day with a maybe "it might be time"---but nope not yet our regular Vet suggested every other day under the skin fluids---my wife and I did it ourselves---it worked great--the cat really did well on the fluids which we were getting from our Vet (every pet we've ever owned which needed meds got them through our Vet cause I felt like we owed them that)----all was good until their supplier of needles changed OR the manufacturer one or the other---the needles were VERY DULL----the cat HATED them because I struggled to get them to penetrate her skin........ I did some research online and came up with the brand "Terumo" as being a good brand....I found what i wanted here at Vet RX direct.....got the prescriptions from our Vet.....So our cat's happy which translates into my wife and I being happy.....glad i found Vet RX Direct and these needles--18 gauge is a little large for a cat in my opinion but she doesn't seem to mind since they go into her skin so easily......-

I'm looking for a Monoject 250 20 x 3/4 A needle for subq fluids for my cat. I can't seem to find that gauge anywhere. Do you sell those? I got the above-named needle from my vet but cannot seem to find them online anywhere.?

Unfortunately we do not sell the Monoject brand of needles at this time. The closest size that we currently carry is manufactured by Terumo, 20 gauge, length 1.5 inches. You may consider speaking with your veterinarian to see which types of needles are the best option for your pet’s needs and the type of medication you are administering. Currently, Terumo does not manufacture the 20g veterinary needles in 1 inch length. If you feel that you need a shorter length needle, you may discuss this with your veterinarian to determine if another size needle will work for you and your pet.

So to be sure the thin wall NN2525R terumo needles will screw into a Luer lock syringe? Similar to the way a Luer lock needle is? Or are they for slip tip only? This is what has been throwing me off.?

Will you be carrying the 20G x 1" needles? That is a good one for subcu fluids. A 1-1/2 " needle is a bit long for subcutaneous fluids, and the 20G is really a desirable gauge to use. Thanks, Cynthia?
