What is Revolution for Dogs?
- Revolution is a prescription topical heartworm preventative and parasiticide medication for dogs.
- Revolution contains Selamectin to protect dogs against fleas, American dog ticks, heartworm, sarcoptic mange, and ear mites for one month.
Why is Revolution used for dogs?
- Revolution is a prescription, topical heartworm preventive.
- Revolution kills adult fleas and prevents flea eggs from hatching for one month, and is indicated for the prevention and control of flea infestations.
- In dogs, Revolution also treats and controls ear mites, sarcoptic mange, and American dog tick infestations.
What else should I know about Revolution?
- Revolution is for topical treatment in dogs six weeks of age and older.
- Bathing or shampooing the dog 2 or more hours after treatment will not reduce the effectiveness of Revolution against fleas or heartworm.
- The American Heartworm Society and most veterinarians recommend an annual heartworm test before prescribing a heartworm preventative for your dog or cat. Dogs with existing heartworm infections can have serious reactions after taking this.
- Revolution is sold as a prescription drug in a maximum of a 12-month supply per dog per year.
- To buy the same size for more than one dog, add what you need to the cart. You can split the amount among different dogs at the checkout!
- Wash your hands after use and wash off any product in contact with the skin immediately with soap and water.
What problems could my dog have with Revolution?
- Stiff hair, clumping of hair, hair discoloration, or a slight powdery residue may be observed at the treatment site in some animals. These effects are temporary and do not affect the safety or effectiveness of the product.
- Rare side effects of Revolution that usually are not serious may include skin irritation or loss of hair at the site of application.
- Rare side effects that may be serious or indicate a serious problem may include depression lack of energy or weakness, stumbling or collapse, dilated pupils, excessive drooling, seizures or coma. If you see any of these signs, contact your veterinarian immediately.
How do you use Revolution?
- Apply to the skin as directed by your veterinarian.
- Firmly press the cap down to puncture the seal on the Revolution tube; a clicking sound will confirm that the cap has successfully punctured the seal. Remove the cap and check to ensure that the tip of the tube is open.
- To administer the product, part the hair on the back of the animal at the base of the neck in front of the shoulder blades until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the tube on the skin and squeeze the tube 3 or 4 times to empty its entire contents directly onto the skin in one spot until empty.
- Check the tube to ensure that it is empty. Do not massage the product into the skin.
- Due to alcohol content, do not apply to broken skin.
- Avoid contact between the product and fingers.
- Do not apply when the haircoat is wet.
What is in Revolution?
Revolution contains selamectin, a topical parasiticide effective against fleas, ear mites, ticks, sarcoptic mange mites, and heartworm disease in dogs.
Will I get what I see in the picture?

I WILL BUY REVOLUTION ONLINE FROM HERE ON OUT ...
From Austin,TXComments about Revolution (selamectin) for DogsI HAD MY VETERINARIAN PUT THE REVOLUTION ON ONE OF MY CATS TO SHOW ME HOW TO APPLY PROPERLY. IT SHOULD BE APPLIED ABOVE THE COLLAR LINE JUST BELOW THE OCCIPITAL SKULL BONE IN MULTIPLE PLACES TO AVOID OVER SATURATION ON ONE PLACE OF THE SKIN. ALSO TO AVOID THE POSSIBILITY OF THE CAT LICKING IT. IT IS TOPICAL AND ALSO GOES INTO BLOOD STREAM AND KILLS WORMS. Fleas cause animals to get tape worms which must be taken care of with a stool sample and a special worm medicine. -
Awesome
From Newpark, CAComments about Revolution (selamectin) for DogsAfter 2 years of use Advantage in our puppies, it looks that it cannot control the fleas anymore. The vet said that advantage had been in the market for many years and fleas are immunized against it. He offer a oral product, when in read the instructions it said that is the dog/cat vomit you have to give him more of the medicine. Sick! since the vomiting is a response to toxins that are bad for the organism that instruction is crazy. The breeder has a much better advice: Revolution. Since I use revolution my dogs don't have one flee on it. It is cutaneous topic as Advantage. You only need to talk to your vet so he can give you a prescription that allows refills. If you have a real problem with fleas, this is a minor obstacle. No more jumping or scratching. I have not seen one flea since I use it.

My dog is normally 36 #,she is now 5 weeks pregnant and 40 #. Which dose box should I order? Got vet approval today. Do ya just call my vet??
-
According to Plumb's Veterinary Handbook, Revolution appears to be safe to use in pregnant or lactating dogs. Revolution is indicated for prevention of heartworm disease and to prevent and control flea infestations. Zoetis, the producers of Revolution state that actual body weight should be used when determining the correct dosage for your dog. So for example if your pregnant dog is now 41 lbs, you should select the teal box of Revolution for dogs weighing between 40.1 - 85 lbs.

I have two dogs and one is 20lbs. Should I get the dose foe 10-20lbs or get the bigger dose for 20-40lbs??
-
It depends on what your veterinarian would recommend. If the pet is still growing, the 20-40 pound would probably be better but we suggest speaking with your veterinarian to see which size they would recommend. Thank you, VetRxDirect

Does this work on nasal mites? Is it safe for border collies??
-
Currently, there is no drug approved for the specific indication of nasal mites. However, the use of Revolution has been recommended and is indicated for dogs older than 6 weeks of age. There has been some evidence to suggest potential nerve tissue damage in Collie-type breeds due to a genetic defect when on Revolution. It has been observed that Collies should tolerate the medication at labeled doses, however its use should be used with caution. It would be to your best interest to contact our veterinarian to discuss the benefits of Revolution for your dog. Thank you, VetRxDirect
