What problems could my cat have with Revolution?
- Stiff hair, clumping of hair, hair discoloration, or a slight powdery residue may be observed at the treatment site in some animals. These effects are temporary and do not affect the safety or effectiveness of the product.
- Rare side effects of Revolution that usually are not serious may include skin irritation or loss of hair at the site of application.

Awesome
From Newpark, CAComments about Revolution (selamectin) for CatsAfter 2 years of use Advantage in our puppies, it looks that it cannot control the fleas anymore. The vet said that advantage had been in the market for many years and fleas are immunized against it. He offer a oral product, when in read the instructions it said that is the dog/cat vomit you have to give him more of the medicine. Sick! since the vomiting is a response to toxins that are bad for the organism that instruction is crazy. The breeder has a much better advice: Revolution. Since I use revolution my dogs don't have one flee on it. It is cutaneous topic as Advantage. You only need to talk to your vet so he can give you a prescription that allows refills. If you have a real problem with fleas, this is a minor obstacle. No more jumping or scratching. I have not seen one flea since I use it. -
I will continue to buy this product it really works great !
From TexasComments about Revolution (selamectin) for CatsGreat product. Works very well and my dog Kirby likes it better than pills. -
Revolution
From Orange, TX, USAComments about Revolution (selamectin) for CatsI first bought Revolution from my vet and it did not seem to do as good a job as it claims it would. But it is known to get more effective on the second dose. That was what this purchase was and it is doing a better job of reducing fleas now with the second dose. I like the results and plan to keep using it. -

My dogs hate heartworm meds, neck application AAA+
From Bay Area, CAComments about Revolution (selamectin) for CatsMy 3 Maltese, our senior Maltese hates heartworm meds and won't take any oral medication. The 2nd, most of the time will take anything, but once in awhile she is resistant, stubborn and won't take it orally. Our 3rd, scrafs everything down. I didn't realize a liquid application on back of neck was available until I spoke to the breeder of our last Maltese and they recommended Revolution. Never an issue getting their monthly meds now. I always give all 3 dogs mid month and about 2 days before their bath day. Once given, I wait 2 full days before bathing just to be sure it has absorb completely. Our dogs have tested negative for heartworms every year so far. Also, we are not in a high flea area, so never a flea on them. -

I have a 2.3 pound teacup yorkie she is about 7yrs old. I have used revolution before. our vet use to give us some samples but cant get anymore. I don't remember which one we used. What strength? I saw for puppies under 5lbs. but she isn't a puppy. Which one would I need??
-
The dose for Revolution is based on the weight of the pet, rather than their age. Dogs up to 5 pounds will get the 15 mg of selamectin per tube dose. Talk with your veterinarian to determine if Revolution is the appropriate treatment for your pet.

I put revolution on my cat 7 days early by mistake. Will it hurt her??
-
It is recommended to contact your veterinarian if you administer more than the prescribed dose. Safety studies have shown Revolution is safe in cats up to 10 times the recommended dose. If your cat is not experiencing any side effects such as hair loss, vomiting, salivation, or muscle tremors, it is most likely safe to resume your cat's normal dosing regimen.

Does this work on nasal mites? Is it safe for border collies??
-
Currently, there is no drug approved for the specific indication of nasal mites. However, the use of Revolution has been recommended and is indicated for dogs older than 6 weeks of age. There has been some evidence to suggest potential nerve tissue damage in Collie-type breeds due to a genetic defect when on Revolution. It has been observed that Collies should tolerate the medication at labeled doses, however its use should be used with caution. It would be to your best interest to contact our veterinarian to discuss the benefits of Revolution for your dog. Thank you, VetRxDirect

When I put the revolution on my cat tonight she tried to run, I held her but it ended up more to the side rather than the middle. So she was able to lick her hair a little. Should I be worried? She's fine so far?
-
Revolution contains selamectin, a topical parasiticide, that should be applied at the base of the neck in front of the shoulder blades to avoid ingestion by the pet. According to the manufacturer, accidental ingestion in cats may cause salivation and possible vomiting. If you have concerns about how much product your cat may have consumed we recommend contacting your veterinarian. Thank you, VetRxDirect

how long does it take for revolution to kill fleas after application?
-
According to the package insert, laboratory studies found that greater than 98% of fleas were killed within the first 36 hours. The first application of this product will kill all fleas and eggs on your pet, but there is no information supporting when complete eradication will occur. The fleas on your pet, however, are only a small percentage of the fleas that could be infesting your home. Fleas like to be in dark places, such as carpet fibers, upholstery, bedding, and even behind baseboards. Some household cleaning tips to help get rid of fleas include: vacuum the carpets thoroughly (throw away the bag/empty out vacuum after each use as flea eggs can hatch within them); sweep and mop hardwood and linoleum flooring; wash your pet's bedding with hot water to kill the flea eggs and larva; and wash your pet's toys. Be sure to keep up this vigorous cleaning regimen until the flea problem is solved. You may consider treating your yard as well if fleas continue to be a persistent problem. Thank you, VetRxDirect
