A life saver!
My kitty has cancer and was throwing up and had diarrhea. This product takes care of both problems. Because it smooths and promotes a healthy digestive track I know that she feels so much better. I'm thankful I found this product.

Poor Customer Service
Hello,
I ordered this product for my cat who has had diarrhea for several months following a move to a new home and the stress of a now mobile toddler. The product took a very long time to arrive which is not a huge problem itself, but wish it would have been expressed clearly before ordering. After feeding my cat the 1/2 a pill he threw up about an hour later. I tried once more 8 hours later thinking maybe he just had a hair ball or something and he threw up again. I realize spending $50 on a product that may not work is a risk, and one that I was willing to take. In order to learn more about what happened and ask for advice, I shared my experience in an email to the team (email address I had used before to follow up on arrival date, so I know they received it). See below. I do not understand why they have not replied and it seems they only care about selling their product versus having any interest in my experience with their product or about my cats health.
Hello,
I was hoping you could help me with some advice about my order. The Pro-Pectalin arrived yesterday and I gave my cat 1/2 a pill (he weights 13lbs), he threw it up with his food about a half hour later. Since I wasn?t sure if it was the probiotics or not I hesitantly tried again 8 hours later, same result.
Have you heard of this happening? I?m just so bummed. My cat?s had persistent diarrhea for some time now and read so many good reviews on how this product would help. Not to mention the cost. He did enjoy the taste and gobbled it right down.
Thanks for any advice

Q & A

Can I give Pro-pectalin and Visbiome probiotics together??
-
The dosage for a cat is 1cc. Our cat accidentally got a 2cc dose. Will the overdose harm him? He has constant diarrhea. Should I skip the next does since he got a double dose??
-
I believe I had to order this two years ago when my cat was vomitting and showing some loose stool. Is this a chalky white substance? Will see my vet tomorrow and she will tell me what to order, but I wanted to be certain this was the product I ordered earlier.?
-
Pro-Pectalin is in the form of an oral gel (that may have a chalky consistency). This product is intended to treat loose stool.

How long should it be given before one would say that the diarrhea has not improved? My cat's vet prescribed it last Monday after my cat had already been having diarrhea for 5 days. My cat is still having diarrhea and has been on the propectalin, tylan powder, kp-sol, and diphenoxylate for a week. Prior to that he had been only taking the tylan powder and kp-sol, but for 5 days already. All meds prescribed by vet.?
-
Its is recommended to consult your veterinarian if your cat's condition does not improve despite appropriate use of this medication, particularly if the diarrhea persists for longer than 48 hours after starting treatment. Please talk with your pet's veterinarian about your cat's persistent symptoms and follow their recommendations.

I have a 50 lb. dog. Would she need more than 1, 4g packet of propectalin powder to firm up her stool? I really like the propectalin tablets, but don't need 250 of them. Why can't you sell say 40 at a time? Karen?
-
A 50 lb dog would get 1 packet of powder daily according to the recommended directions. The manufacturer of Pro-Pectalin only produces the tablets in 250 ct bottles, which are sold and shipped in their original packaging by VetRxDirect.

Hi, we're changing the diet for all of our 4 dogs to natural and grain free. All using different brands. We are doing it very gradually but one my dogs a German Shepherd mix, almost 10 years old and weights 56 pounds, had diarrhea the very 1st day. We're planning on getting him Pro-pectalin tomorrow from his vet, but I was wondering for how long can we give it to him, or all of them? Can we give it for a whole month, while we do the food transition...as as precaution??
-
We recommend asking your veterinarian about the correct dosage and length of time that will be appropriate for your pet's needs. The manufacturer suggests giving Pro-Pectalin daily, but does not provide information on the length of treatment.

Is the oral powder the same as the syringe to help with diarrhea? And how much could I give a 10lbs cat ??
-
Pro-Pectalin tablets and gel syringe contain the same active ingredients kaolin, pectin, and Enterococcus faecium probiotic. The powder includes those same ingredients, but has 2 additional strains of probiotics. Both the powder and gel are designed to help support normal digestive system and reduce loose stools. The recommended dosage for a cat taking the powder is 1 scoop, or for the gel 1 cc. You may ask your veterinarian which product suits your pet's needs.
