Why is PanaKare Plus used for dogs and cats?

  • PanaKare Plus is prescribed to help relieve malnutrition and other symptoms caused when the pancreas does not produce enough digestive enzymes. This disorder is called exocrine pancreatic insifficiency (EPI).
  • PanaKare Plus replaces pancreatic enzymes so your dog or cat can digest proteins, carbohydrates, and fats from food.
  • PanaKare Plus Powder or PanaKare Plus Tablets may be prescribed depending on your pet’s preference or dosing needs.

What else should I know about PanaKare Plus?

  • People with severe pork allergies should not handle this product.
  • Store the PanaKare Plus Powder container tightly closed in a dry place at temperatures not exceeding 35°C (95°F).
  • Store the PanaKare Plus Tablets container tightly closed in a dry place at controlled room temperature.
  • Avoid inhaling powder as it may cause lung irritation or worsen asthma.
  • Avoid contacting your skin with the powder. Wash any powder from your skin as soon as possible.

What problems could my dog or cat have with PanaKare Plus?

  • Cats often do not like the taste of the pancreatic enzyme powder and may be more likely to take tablets or capsules. Some cats also may eat one brand of enzymes and not another. Talk to your veterinarian if you are having trouble with medicating your cat.
  • Discontinue use in animals with symptoms of sensitivity. May cause oral mucosal irritation.
  • PanaKare Plus side effects are usually not serious, but high doses of this medication may cause diarrhea, vomiting, excessive gas, and stomach cramping. Contact your veterinarian if these signs are severe, worsen, or continue to be a problem.
  • PanaKare Plus side effects that may be serious or indicate a serious problem may include bleeding in the mouth, mouth and throat irritation, and esophageal ulcers.If using tablets or capsules, give food or water to your animal immediately after dosing. If using powder mixed into food, make sure the powder has been moistened before offering it to your animal.

How do you use PanaKare Plus?

  • PanaKare Plus Powder is added to moistened food (canned or dry). Thorough mixing is necessary to bring the enzymes into close contact with the food particles. After mixing, let stand at room temperature for 15-20 minutes.
  • PanaKare Plus Tablets are administered before each meal.
  • Always follow your veterinarian's directions for use.
  • If using tablets, make sure that your cat or dog gets water or food right after taking the tablets. This may reduce the risk of damage to the esophagus.
