Nordic Naturals Omega-3 Pet Softgels for Dogs
Nordic Naturals is an Omega-3 fatty acid supplement for dogs. It contains pure anchovy and sardine oil as a source of fatty acids that include EPA and DHA to promote cellular health. Omega fatty acids help support a healthy immune system, skin and coat, and joint maintenance. Nordic Naturals oil is free from artificial flavors or colors and is derived from wild caught fish from the South Pacific Ocean. Consult with your dog’s veterinarian before starting this product or any nutritional supplements. For easy administration, softgels may be given whole or punctured and applied over food. Available in 90 and 180 count bottles.

Is this recommended for small breeds ? Specifically a Maltese 10 lbs.?

According to the manufacturer, the recommended daily dose for dogs is 1 capsule per 20 lbs of body weight. Because this formulation is a capsule, it may not be split to accommodate animals who weigh less than 20 lbs. However, the product is also available in a liquid formulation for cats and small breeds of dogs. The recommended doses are listed below. Suggested daily use for dogs 2–19 lbs: 2–4 lbs: 0.5 mL (78 mg EPA/46 mg DHA) 5–9 lbs: 1.0 mL (156 mg EPA/92 mg DHA) 10–19 lbs: 2.0 mL (313 mg EPA/184 mg DHA) Please search for "Nordic Naturals Omega-3 Pet" in the VetRxDirect website's search bar and select the "cats and small breeds dogs" (2 oz) liquid formulation for further information.
