MotaZol Otic Suspension for Dogs and Cats

MotaZol is prescription medication that contains gentamicin (antibiotic), mometasone (adrenocorticoid), and clotrimazole (antifungal). If your dog has been diagnosed with otitis externa, or an ear infection, your veterinarian may prescribe a medicated ear solution such as MotaZol. It is designed for the treatment of ear infections caused by certain strains of bacteria and yeast. MotaZol also helps relieve inflammation and discomfort caused by ear infections. Talk with your dog’s veterinarian before using MotaZol, and follow their specific guidelines for administration. Available in 7.5g, 15g, and 30g dropper bottles.

What you should know about MotaZol Otic Suspension:

  • Read and follow the prescription label carefully for storage information, possible side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Give the exact amount prescribed and only as often as directed.
  • Do not skip doses or stop giving the medication without consulting your veterinarian.
  • Shake well before use.
Resistance is a major concern when giving antibiotics. Resistance occurs when bacteria survive and mutate and are then able to survive even after antibiotics are given. To help avoid any resistance, it is important to give antibiotics as they are prescribed for as long as they are prescribed even if your pet is looking and feeling better.
