cats with Stomatitis
While Stomatitis can't, as of yet, be cured, this terrible disease can be controlled with use of certain medicines i.e., Clindamycin Hydrochloride oral drops,of course, along with other medicaments to. Other medications are Medrol which I use the pill form to treat my cat/Sebastian. He was one of many Feral's that I fed each day. He's about fourteen years of age. I trapped him and he is now one of my house Boyes. From what I have read of this disease, removal of all a cat's teeth is recommended but I didn't want to do that so after removing approximately 75% his teeth, I continue to treat him with Clindamycin and Medrol pills. If his condition gets very bad, I have my vet give him a steroid shot with lasts for about six weeks. The downside is that all that continued use of medications can take a toll on a cats inner organs. I choose, for him, to make him ccomfortable for the rest of his life.

Clindamycin Liquid 25mg/mL Generic,
From UndisclosedComments about Clindamycin Liquid 25mg/mL Generic, 20mL Dropper VialI chose this medication because my vet prescribed it for my dog, Happy after extensive dental work about 8 years ago. It seems to work because he hasn't any issues since, he also tolerates the med well. The price is much lower than what I would have to pay at the Vet's office. I also received a tracking email, so I could determine exactly when the medication would arrive.-
Here's Happy!

clindamycin liquid helps Bitty's infection prone mouth
From UndisclosedComments about Clindamycin Liquid 25mg/mL ClindaMed, 20mL Dropper VialBitty is a 13 year old Chihuahua who unfortunately has dental problems. I've found that the Clindamycin Liquid is helpful for her infection prone mouth. It's easy to measure and give with the dropper. Giving meds can be a challenge for me, as I am visually impaired.-

If the prescribed dose is 1.5 ml every 12 hours for my 10 lb cat, is that 1 and a half droppers? The dropper seems to be 1 ml so 1.5 would be 1.5 droppers.?
-
Yes. Draw the medication up to the 1ml mark and then to the 0.5ml mark to get the total 1.5ml needed.

If the cat does not eat the wet food with Clinisol liquid put on it, due to the alcohol smell, will the medicine evaporate? Just wondering...thanks?
-
Ellen, The manufacturer does not provide specifics on how the medication should be administered. If you mix the medicine with the cat’s food it’s preferred to only use a small amount of food to make sure the cat consumes the entire dose of medicine. The alcohol present in the medication may evaporate over a period of time but the drug will remain on the food. Follow the directions given by your veterinarian when giving this medicine. How many drops per bottle? my dogs take two tablets of this pill for two dogs 2pills twice a day for prevention of tooth decay how many bottles would I need ??
-
Nancy, Clindamycin hydrochloride is dosed, generally, by the weight of the animal and measured in milliliters. Each bottle contains 20mL of clindamycin hydrochloride at a strength of 25 milligrams per milliliter. This is a total of 500 milligrams of clindamycin in each bottle. Without knowing the strength of the tablet that you are currently giving each dog, it would be impossible to say how many doses a bottle would contain for your dogs. While the recommended dose for dogs is 2.5-15mg per pound of body weight every 12 hours, actual dosing will be determined by your dogs' veterinarian based on their individual needs. Thank you, VetRxDirect
