Doesn't work as a chewable for us
From UndisclosedComments about K-BroVet (Potassium Bromide) CA1 500mg, 60 Chewable TabletsThis is part of Watson's regular epilepsy treatment regime. VetRx got it to us quickly when other providers were out of stock. It's technically a chewable, but I have to give it to Watson like other meds, wrapped in meat or cheese... He eats around it even if I put it in his kibble. :) -

Back in stock ETA / date? for any of the KBrovet products.?
-
When will this be back in stock??
-
Can I mix the chewable K brovet tablets in my dogs wet food ahead of time(in daily portioned amounts)for kennel boarding purposes ??
-
If your dog’s wet food requires refrigeration after opening, it is recommended to add K-BroVet immediately prior to administration. According to the manufacturer, K-BroVet should be stored at room temperature (68-77 °F). The stability of K-BroVet cannot be guaranteed if stored at cooler temperatures. Please consult your veterinarian with further questions about safely storing and administering this medication.

Can I apply liquid bromide to the bags of food I prepare for my dog when he is boarded while I am traveling? I prepare homemade food that is refrigerated, so I am assuming this would be okay??
-
Combining liquid bromide to bags of dog food is not recommended for a variety of reasons: One is that the manufacturer states to store the K-BroVet in a sealed container at room temperature (not in the refrigerator). After adding K-BroVet to the food, the chemistry of the K-BroVet (and possibly even the food) will be compromised and will not be stored per manufacturer's recommendation. The second is that there is no way to determine the shelf-life and the potency of the K-BroVet after it has been added to your dog's food.

K-Brovet is a prescription medication that requires an order from your veterinarian. Doses of this medication is tailored for the individual animal based on serum bromide concentration, success of seizure control, and the observation of adverse effects. Please contact your veterinarian to determine an appropriate dose of this medication for your dog. Thank you, VetRxDirect

Is this medicine as potent as having my pharmacy compound it ??
-
K-BroVet is a veterinary prescription medication used in the treatment of seizure disorders. K-BroVet is a commercially available product that contains the chemical, potassium bromide. Whether your veterinarian prescribes K-BroVet chews or solution, or chooses to have potassium bromide compounded, the potency(or dose) prescribed will depend on what the veterinarian recommends. As a result, the only difference between the commercially available and compounded products (medication made in pharmacy) will be the inactive ingredients used to make these dosage forms. VetRxDirect can compound several different formulations of potassium bromide, including solutions and capsules tailoring the dose and dosage form to the pet’s needs.Contact your veterinarian to determine which potassium bromide medication is most appropriate for the management of your pet’s seizure disorder.
