From UndisclosedComments about Dog Heartgard (ivermectin) ChewablesThis product works very well for my dogs. They love the flavor and eat it as a treat once a month. Never a heartworm scare, and I live in Hawaii where there can be many mosquitoes! -
Heartgard chewables {ivermectin}
From undisclosedComments about Dog Heartgard (ivermectin) Chewablesyou are the only company that still sells this medication without the plus added. My dog has been on this since I got him 8 years ago and has no heart worms.He had to take the heartgard plus since I couldn't find other and had a reaction to it after one pill. I don't like giving him excess chemicals. So I have told friends and family that you sell this product. We are all sick of chemical excess as all of our dogs are developing skin problems. Thanks so much. Safer to have him checked for parasites and treat only if test shows them present. -

Difficult to find!
From FloridaComments about Dog Heartgard (ivermectin) ChewablesThe vets don't carry this, only the plus. Since I have never seen a tick on my dogs or cats, I don't want them having more toxins than necessary. They are over 10 and want to keep their livers healthy. Am glad to get this here!

I am using Heartgard for dogs up to 25 pounds for my Havanese puppy. He likes to eat rabbit poop when we are outside. My trainer said to check to see if Heartgard has Panicure (spelling) which is what would cover the parasite that could be caused by rabbit poop.?
-
Heartgard contains the active ingredient ivermectin. In dogs, this is only indicated for the prevention of heartworms. Panacur is a different product that contains fenbendazole as its active ingredient which is used for the removal of various other parasite types. Contact your veterinarian to determine the most appropriate product for your dog.

Rachael, Yes, the correct dose would be to give two brown Heartgard to your very extra large dog. Your pet's veterinarian will also include these directions when the product is prescribed. Thank you, VetRxDirect
