Excellent product. Many uses for your fur baby.
My husband and I have 5 rescues, our oldest was recently diagnosed with renal failure and our youngest has a very sensitive stomach. We mix a little into soft food on a regular basis. It smells just like chicken bouillon and I'm guessing that is what entices my oldest to eat (for her we use it to get her to eat more do she gets enough calories). It's also solved a lot of the sensitive stomach issues for our youngest. We don't use a whole packet per day, just a little sprinkle in with some soft food or on top of some very low sodium tuna (Starkist brand - about 2 tablespoons). Our vet was kind enough to let us sample it at first, now we buy it by the box.

Didn't do much for my cat
My kitten of 6 month has been having diarrhea ever since I got him, my vet suggests that the food he was on was too rich and he has a very sensitive tummy. So we tried switching his food to a vet recommended special diet and added fortiflora to his food everyday. He didn't seem to improve much, his diarrhea was still runny its been 2 weeks. The first thing in the ingredients is animal digest, I understand it's probably there to promote eating, but I'm not sure if that's helping with my kitten who's suppose to be on a very strict diet. One thing that baffled me was that this only had one strain of bacteria, and there was no guaranteed analysis of how much bacteria culture is in each pouch. I'm not giving this product a negative review solely because it didn't help my cat, there might be other underlying problems, but I'm just very disappointed that a product suggested by a vet was this low of quality. Now I won't know if probiotics is not helping because my cat has some other health problem or if it's because there's not enough bacteria culture in fortiflora (since I have no idea how much there is) and not enough variety.

Great product, will buy again.
From undisclosedComments about FortiFlora Probiotic for CatsGreat to get the product. Many businesses don't ship to Alaska. It is great for our cats. It had cleared up severe digestive and bleeding issues with one cat. They both get it everyday and love it sprinkled on their food. -
I will continue to purchase this item
From undisclosedComments about FortiFlora Probiotic for CatsWe use this everyday for my dog that has chronic pancreatitis. He seems to Like the flavor and it has appeared to help prevent diarrhea. -
Some cats are crazy for the flavor, but mine are indifferent
From undisclosedComments about FortiFlora Probiotic for CatsMy cats were crazy about this at first, but soon became indifferent. I bought it as an appetite stimulant for kidney disease cats. My sisters two heathy cats love it sprinkled on their dinner. -
Cats love.

I would absolutely continue to buy ths product!
From undisclosedComments about FortiFlora Probiotic for CatsMy vet suggested that I use Fortiflora around 6 years ago, after my girl had a serious bout of colitis. I have given Honey one packet per day and it really does keep her bowels in good working order.......especially more important now since she just had her twelfth birthday and is a pretty big girl. Would I stop using it? No, I really don't want to take the chance of her gut getting out of whack again......I trust this product and feel that it has helped maintain good gastrointestinal health. -
I Use this item everyday for my dog.
From Henderson,NVComments about FortiFlora Probiotic for CatsI love this product and it works great. I am a first time dog owner. My dog was born with a sensitive GI tract and this product works great for her. I highly recommend this product. I have two pets but my dog is the only one that uses this item and needs it. -
Excellent digestive supplement
From Bethpage, NYComments about FortiFlora Probiotic for CatsProbiotics are a good addition to any dog's diet, and with one dog who sometimes has stomach issues, this has been a life saver for us. It minimizes soft stool and upset stomach and provides daily health benefits. The single packet dose means no extra time measuring, and the powder mixes into food easily -- plus, both my dogs seem to like the taste. The price on this item recently skyrocketed 30-35% pretty much everywhere, and with no explanation -- with no real discounts even for a volume purchase. This was an excellent deal for a six-pack purchase. -
Exactly the same as provided by the vet, only cheaper
From Kirkwood, MOComments about FortiFlora Probiotic for CatsForti-Flora for dogs is the same stuff I used to purchase from the vet, same brand, same packaging, same everything, except price. I buy a 6-month supply at a time and it is about 2/3 the price the vet sells it for. I'm not cheap, but this stuff costs about the same as my dog's food, which means the price of feeding her is almost double. Any price break is appreciated. -
My vet prescribed FortiFlora for my elderly yorkie and it...
From Salinas, CAComments about FortiFlora Probiotic for CatsMy vet prescribed FortiFlora for my elderly yorkie and it worked great! Vet Rx has the best price for a product I love. -
our vet recommened fortiflora
From MidwestComments about FortiFlora Probiotic for Catsto help our dog's acute colitis....and we get good results with it (along with her medication). We've tried other probiotics, but this one seems to work the best and gives us the longest results. VetRX had the best price and promptly replaced our order when the local post office misdelivered it.

Hello, I have been reading up on giving cats with suppressed immune systems probiotics and most say you should not. It also says the same with humans. My vet told me to give it, but I think her immune system is compromised due to long term use of prednisolone (due to intestinal cancer) since she now has what seems to be a cold. I think I am probably making matters worse. What is your opinion? Now I have no idea what to give her for diarrhea. Thank you.?
-
VetRxDirect does not offer opinions or recommendations for over-the-counter products. Specific information about a drug or supplement can be addressed, but the recommendation to use or not use a product needs to be directed to your veterinarian, as they have the most in-depth knowledge on the health history of your pet.

My 70 lb mixed breed is taking Fortiflora for digestive issues/loose stool and it has now been suggested by a professional trainer that I put him on Calming Care for an anxiety related issue. Is there any reason he shouldn't be given both medications at the same time??
-
According to the manufacturer, you can give your pet both the Fortiflora probiotic supplement for dogs and the Calming Care calming probiotic for dogs. They recommend not giving both probiotics at the same feeding. Please consult your veterinarian regarding any further questions or concerns regarding this medication in your dog.

My kitten got into the box... Can they overdose??
-
FortiFlora is a probiotic and contains no active medications, so your cat will not overdose. According to the manufacturer, the primary concern would be your cat ingesting the packaging materials (e.g. box, tape). If packaging materials were ingested, the manufacturer recommends to continue feeding your pet normally and observe them to ensure no intestinal blockage of the packaging materials. Speak to your veterinarian with further concerns.

How many millions of the bifidobacterium is in each treatment? Also, is this weight based? I have a small dog who weighs about 10 pounds.?
-
Each packet of Calming Care Probiotic contains 1 billion CFU of bifidobacterium longum. Per manufacturer, this product is not weight based. Under veterinary supervision, one packet is recommended for all dogs regardless of weight.
