Should the base of the tail of an 85 lbs dog be one of the 3-4 application sites for Advantage Multi??
-
According to the manufacturer, they suggest placing the applications from the base of the neck to the upper back in an area inaccessible to licking. If you think your pet would not lick that area then it should be fine. Thank you, VetRxDirect

Can a dog shampoo that's not soap free strip away the advantage multi? ?
-
If you apply the product and wait at least 90 minutes, the manufacturer states that shampooing after treatment does not reduce the effectiveness. The longer you wait the better, but no, shampooing will not strip away the product if adequate time is given after treatment. Thank you, VetRxDirect

I applied the product in the morning then shampooed the dog in the evening. Do I need to do another application after shampooing??
-
Kate, The prescribing information from the manufacturer states that shampooing 90 minutes after application will not reduce the effectiveness of Advantage Multi for Dogs in the prevention of heartworm disease. However, shampooing as often as once weekly may reduce the effectiveness against fleas. Depending on your location and climate, your veterinarian may recommend a reapplication of Advantage Multi for Dogs. Specific questions regarding shampooing after application can also be directed to Bayer Veterinary Services at 1-800-255-6826. Thank you, VetRxDirect

Can I use another product (like Vectra-D) to control ticks along with Advantage Multi??
-
Sheila, Other products can be used to control ticks on your dog in addition to using Advantage Multi. Topical products should be separated by applying them several weeks apart. It's best to ask your pet's veterinarian for advice. Thank you, VetRxDirect
