This company is the best!
From UndisclosedComments about Vetprofen (carprofen) Flavored Tablets 100mg, 180ctMy girl, Runa, is 4 years old and runs through the swamp on the back of our property and chases and catches a frisbee like a champ. However, she has now developed osteoarthritis in one of her hips. The Vetprofen eases her pain at night. The cost of this medication at our vet's office was 3 times as much! Thanks for your company's continued commitment to affordable medications for our fur babies! -

Vetprofen is a life saver!
From undisclosedComments about Vetprofen (carprofen) Flavored TabletsOur 7 yr old Golden wouldn't go up or down stairs until he started taking Vetprofen. He takes 1 tablet in the evening and keeps going, playing, acting like a kid. -
I would buy this product again
From undisclosedComments about Vetprofen (carprofen) Flavored TabletsBest on-line price I could find. These are the chewable version which makes it easier to administer, particularly since my dog gets 150mg/day which makes it unfeasibe to purchase the100 mg caplets. Only downside is that they are softer than other brands of tablets I have had so they crumble easier or dissolve faster if my dogs isn't in the mood to chew them directly from my hand. -

Q & A
-
Can this tablet be split into quarters??
-
The manufacturer states that doses should be calculated using half-tablet increments. Whole tablets may be split once, but it is recommended to not further divide the tablets. Tablets split more than once may provide an inaccurate dose.

My schnauzer takes ursodiol. She has gall bladder problems. She's also 12. Is it safe for her to take veteprofen or do you carry another med that would work better for her pain??
-
The active ingredient in Vetprofen is carprofen, which is a Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID). Carprofen should be used cautiously in older patients. There is no drug interaction between ursodiol and carprofen. Please talk to your veterinarian. He or she will determine if carprofen is the right medication for your pet.

What side effects are associated with Vetprofen??
-
The active ingredient in Vetprofen is carprofen. It is a non-steroidal antiinflammatory agent. Dogs tend to tolerate carprofen well, but can uncommonly have side effects. Less than 2% of dogs may experience vomiting, diarrhea, reduce appetite, or tiredness. It is rarer, but possible, to cause liver damage or kidney disease. Cats are more prone to developing kidney problems from this medication than dogs. They can have more gastrointestinal side effects if the medication is used for a long time. Your veterinarian will be very helpful in discussing the risks and benefits of Vetprofen, and deciding if it is the best choice for your pet. Thank you, VetRxDirect

My dog only has to take 50mg in the Am and 50mg in the PM. Her current RX can be broken in half, it is not the chewable type. My Question, can the chewable tablet that you sell be split in half??
-
Vetprofen (carprofen) is available through VetRxDirect as a caplet and as a flavored chewable tablet in strengths of 25 mg, 75 mg, and 100 mg. Both of these formulations in each strength may be split to accommodate half-doses. Thank you, VetRxDirect
