Neo-Predef with Tetracaine Powder for Cats, Dogs, and Small Animals

Neo-Predef is a prescription topical powder that contains neomycin (antibiotic), isoflupredone (anti-inflammatory), tetracaine (topical anesthetic), and myristyl-gamma-picolinium chloride (germicidal/corticosteroid). Neo-Predef is commonly used in different topical applications including the treatment of certain ear and skin conditions, wound dressings, surgical sites, and post surgical uses. It works to reduce and prevent infection with broad spectrum anti-microbials, block pain sensation and reflexes, inhibit inflammation, and provide quick acting relief of symptoms. If your pet has been diagnosed with a dermatological condition, has an injury, or has recently had a surgical procedure, your veterinarian may prescribe a topical powder such as NeoPredef for treatment. Neo-Predef is available in a 15gram puffer bottle.

What you should know about Neo-Predef with Tetracaine:

  • Consult with your pet’s veterinarian before administering this medication and follow their specific instructions for use.
  • Read and follow the prescription label carefully for storage information, possible side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Give the exact amount prescribed and only as often as directed.
  • Do not skip doses or stop giving the medication without consulting your veterinarian.
  • Wash hands immediately after use or wear gloves when handling the medication.

Resistance is a major concern when giving antibiotics. Resistance occurs when bacteria survive and mutate and are then able to survive even after antibiotics are given. To help avoid any resistance, it is important to give antibiotics as they are prescribed for as long as they are prescribed even if your pet is looking and feeling better.
