Works for rash
This is the only medication that clears up the rash my cat gets on her chin. Her vet and I have been trying to figure out what my cat is allergic to, with little success. However, this medication clears the rash within a few days and eases the itchiness.

Mupirocin Ointment
My vet recommended this ointment for my dogs skin irritations and sores. It is Rx so I had to wait for my vet and Vetrxdirect to get it together and get the ointment out. Took a very long time, so I was dissapointed in that. Product fine.

Works great, nice sized tube of ointment
From undisclosedComments about Mupirocin Topical Ointment, 2%Works great for my dog's rash that she tends to get every summer. Makes it go away in just a few days instead if weeks of antibiotics. It was cultured and came back as MRSA so it's great to find an ointment that helps her. -
great healing agent
From Springfield, IllinoisComments about Mupirocin Topical Ointment, 2%we use this for an anti-biotic resistent staph skin infection that is recurring. we have used this for almost 2 years. there are times when we have no outbreaks, but for those many other times when we do, this heals the skin quickly. when we apply it to the dog's skin, she seems instantly relieved and the itching stops. -
Shiatzu was suffering, Muricin relieved her immediately.
From Jasper ALComments about Mupirocin Topical Ointment, 2%My poor Shiatzu was suffering all night and day with severe itching on her private part... she was going in circles trying to rub it... Muricin was like a miracle salve... instant relief and she was able to rest... redness and infection gone in two days. -
Very Effective as Part of Treatment Plan for MRSA
From Tucson, AZ, USAComments about Mupirocin Topical Ointment, 2%We've been using this product for several years; our Old English Mastiff somehow managed to contract 3 MRSA strains, and still has two strains. The pustules are very painful for her, especially when they're in between her toes or on the bottom of her paws. This medication is a godsend for us. First, it works wonders on the pustules, often eliminating new small ones overnight, and heals and shrinks the larger ukkies. Secondly, since it's in an ointment form, it provides a soothing base and eases her pain. Mupuricin ointment can't fight MRSA on its own, but it's a fabulous weapon to have in your arsenal if your pet has a skin condition, especially if its related to MRSA.

Q & A

my golden retriever's nail beds get infected. I have mupirocin that I think I used on him last year. however, he is licking his paws more frequently than before. Is this harmful to him if he would lick it off??
-
According to the manufacturer, you should prevent your dog from licking, chewing, or grooming the area for at least 20 to 30 minutes after application of Mupirocin to prevent side effects related to ingesting the product and to allow sufficient contact time with the wound. The medication needs 10 minutes of contact time with the affected area for it to be effective. Side effects that may be serious or indicate a serious problem include increased thirst and/or urinating more than usual, vomiting, poor appetite, and low energy level. A proper diagnosis of the newly observed condition would be recommended to ensure the correct treatment is started. Medication should not be used past the expiration date. The lot number and expiration date of mupirocin ointment can usually be located on the box or on the crimp of the tube.

Will this help treat/heal a cut on the bottom of a paw??

Mupirocin is an antibiotic ointment used to treat a narrow range of bacterial skin infections. Can I use the human version on a 3 week old puppy??
-
Product: Muricin Ointment Question: Can I use the human version on a 3 week old puppy? Both products do contain the same active ingredient (mupirocin 2%). Attempting to use this medication without the approval of your veterinarian will delay the time to proper diagnosis and treatment. Using the wrong medication or the incorrect dose and duration can lead to problems such as worsening infection and antimicrobial resistance. Thank you, VetRxDirect
