Milbemite
From UndisclosedComments about MilbeMite (0.1% Milbemycin Oxime) 2 Tubes of 0.25mL EachI choose Milbemite for ear mite eradication in the kitty cats that I am responsible for. I run a cat rescue and they are mini cats that are rescue with your mites. Some of them are not so friendly. Melber might as a one time air might treatment. It's easier to help them this way, then to do a 10 to 12 day treatment daily. -

Can you apply revolution the same day as Milibite? Do you ever need to repeat a course of Milibite??
-
According to the manufacturer, 99% of cats with ear mites are "ear mite negative" after a single application. While there are no drug-drug interactions or contraindications between MilbiMite and Revolution, it is advised that you speak to your veterinarian regarding the use of these products. Your vet understands your cat's condition best, and can make recommendations regarding the time between administration of both products.

my cat's ears were cleaned prior to the vet administering the drug. This morning there is fresh mite residue present in the ears. Will cleaning his ears effect the efficacy of the drug at all??
-
According to the manufacturer’s product label, cleaning of the external ear canal prior to treatment may be performed but is not necessary to provide effectiveness. In clinical field trials of this medication, ears were not cleaned and many animals still had debris in their ears at the end of the study. If you have any further questions or concerns regarding this medication and your cat, please consult your veterinarian.

my cats were treated with Milbemite. They also gave me Selarid. How soon after milbemite in ear can I administer the flea medicine??
-
MilbeMite is used for the treatment of ear mite infestations in cats. Some flea medications, including Selarid, have been used safely with MilbeMite. Continued use of some flea medications will help to control subsequent ear mite infestations.

I successfully treated my cats ears with the MilbeMite. Now 4 days later she at times still scratches her ear and shakes her head like before the treatment. Do I assume she needs more or is this normal and full eradication of the mites from this one treatment will take place over time??
-
Please consult with your veterinarian to determine if retreatment is necessary. Pharmacy references quote up to a 99% effectiveness with one treatment, and that Milbemite treatment may be repeated once if necessary depending on the life cycle of the ear mite and prior response to therapy.

what is the proper way to open the tubes of MilbeMite and assure delivery? The foil product package contained two tubes of the treatment, and each had a nice blue translucent cap held on by a small ridge to the white tube nozzle. I was expecting the drug to be dispensable once removing the blue cap, or to have a twist-off or other no-tool method of breaking the tube seal. I chose to use a pair of wire cutters (preferred over a knife or razor) to remove the top of the tube. In this process, I didn't understand what the blue caps were intended to do. And after this, I was unsure if I emptied the tube properly into the cat's ear, noting the cat was not necessarily in a mood to cooperate: Was there an intended method to assure the tube was fully emptied? I have a sneaking suspicion there were much better methods.?

Each foil pouch contains two tubes of solution, one for each ear. The manufacturer instructs to open the tube by pressing the cap down firmly to break seal. Remove the cap and check to be sure tip of tube is open. Squeeze the tube to administer the entire contents of one tube into each external ear canal. Massage the base of the ear for the best application.
