DOUXO Calm for Dogs and Cats
What are DOUXO Calm products?
DOUXO Calm is a line of topical products which may help with skin allergies in dogs or cats. The product line includes a shampoo, mousse, gel, and micro-emulsion spray to tailor to your pet’s specific needs. All of the products contain phytosphingosine, which is a conditioning and antibacterial lipid (fat). It is naturally produced by the body, but these topical products deliver extra amounts of this lipid to the skin which may help restore the skin’s barrier function. The product line is listed below with the directions for use and any additional active ingredients they may contain. Contact your pet's veterinarian to see if DOUXO Calm products are right for your cat or dog.

Having been using this on my miniature poodle/mix for over 2 months, and am very pleased with the results. No more scratching, and a softer coat. Started out using it 2 times a week, and have cut back to only once a week. It is expensive, but well worth it to have a happy dog again.

Q
Is it safe to use the spray during the week that you are using the shampoo, if the dog is experiencing problems??
- Asked by Jodie
-
Open Reply - VetRxDirect Jodie, The manufacturer of Douxo products recommends when treating allergic outbreaks to first use the Douxo Shampoo on days 1, 4, and 7 for the first week and then switch to the Douxo spray every three days after the first week of shampooing. The spray is then used until the allergic outbreak resolves. The manufacturer recommends using the shampoo first and then the spray second but not to use them at the same time. Contact your veterinarian for further advice to determine if off-label use of the Douxo products is appropriate for your pet’s condition. Thank you, VetRxDirect
