First time using this product
Being that this was the first time we have ever used an injection pen, I had no idea that you were supposed to buy separate needles to screw on the end of it before injecting. It would have been nice to have been sent instructions with this product for those of us who are new users to know what to do. Also when I purchased this pen, I thought it would be enough for a month supply and realized after the fact when I was administering injections and seeing how quickly we were going through the medicine that it was only a 12 day supply. Other than that I have no other issues with it. It's fairly easy to use, I'm still more of a fan of the syringes.

Comments about Basaglar (insulin glargine injection)
This size insulin's perfect for my cats low dose prescription. Before this we wasted half of a $300 prescription as it expires after 28 days opened. . This size eliminates the waste of product and money, which I saved $150 buying this way.
I would continue to buy from them.

Q
I am looking for an easy method to administer insulin to my cat. Poking him with a needle and then draw back to insure no blood is present in injection site twice a day is not something I want to even try. Is the basaglar pen method easier? Do you have a video that illustrates how the pen works on a cat??
- Asked by Beezie
-
Open Reply - VetRxDirect Insulin pens can be an easier way to administer the insulin in your cat. They eliminate the need to draw up medication in a syringe. Please consult your veterinarian about questions about using the Basaglar pen in your cat.
-
Open Reply - A veterinary professional The pen is always easier. You cant draw back, but you literally turn the dial to the number of units, put the needle cap on, poke, push and done. The only thing I'd suggest is getting a linger needle if you have a chucky kitty like I do. The insulin wont administer if you dont.
