Surgery avoided!
From UndisclosedComments about Adequan Canine 100mg/ml, 5mL, Box of 2Thanks to Adequan, my 8 y.o. cat Tiger does not need to get surgery for his knee dysplasia. We have been giving him regular shots of Adequan as directed by our vet for about a year now. Tiger now has zoomies like a small kitten. He can now run around the backyard or the house, and doesn't have any issues jumping on high surfaces. Before, he had issues to simply walk. We also are administering Adequan to our other 13 y.o. Kuzma that has been developing arthritis due to old age. It helps him walk and helps him from pain. Highly recommended! -

Q & A

How many doses in each vial fora 85 lb dog, and how often is this typically given??
-
Dosing intervals, shelf life after puncture, and the maximum number of punctures allowed by the manufacturer all play a role in the number of doses per vial. A veterinarian will determine dosing based on the dog's individual needs, which will have a significant impact on the number of doses per vial. The FDA-approved dosing schedule isn't always optimum for some dogs, and off-label uses are often included. Speak to your veterinarian to determine the dosing schedule specific for your pet. With that information the number of doses per vial can be determined.

Kathy, Currently, the best source of information on the availablity of Adequan is to visit http://www.adequan.com/ where you can find a press release from Luitpold Pharmaceuticals, the manufacturer of Adequan. You will also find a link where you can sign up to receive more information and updates as it becomes available. Until then, we recommend talking to your veterinarian about the best alternatives to Adequan for your pet.
