Remend Corneal Repair Gel, Eye Luburicating Drops, Wound Spray Gel

Fast acting and effective Remend Corneal Repair Drops are ideal for dogs and cats that have an acute injury to the cornea of the eye. These prescription eye drops contain an active ingredient that speeds the natural healing process and helps heal corneal ulcers in as little as two days.

  • Heals non-infected corneal eye injuries
  • Prescribed for dogs and cats
  • Fast acting medication
  • Soothing eye drops

Rapid relief is key when your dog or cat has suffered a serious eye injury. If your dog or cat has a non-infected corneal ulcer or other eye injury, your veterinarian may prescribe Virbac’s Remend Corneal Repair Drops. These soothing drops go to work quickly to support the natural healing process in the eye and can actually help heal ulcers in as little as 48 hours. Remend Corneal Repair Drops contain a form of a natural substance found in tissues throughout the body called hyaluronate. This special substance promotes cell migration and provides support for cells as they build new tissue and expedite the healing process.

  • Q:

My dog is on Remend and Tobramycin for a corneal abrasion. She gets a white, milky discharge often after the drops. It is usually around her inner eyelid and will work itself out when I apply wetting drops. Is this just the healing?
Asked on 2/16/2015 by Pkr316 from Springfield IL

    1 answer

    • A:

It is a general recommendation to allow at least 5 minutes between drops when administering. It is also recommended to instill the eyedrops in order of least viscous (thick) to most viscous and instill eye drops delivered in an aqueous base (water based) before an oil based product. Make sure adequate time is allowed between these drops. If you are still noticing the discharge after applying, contact your veterinarian to receive further evaluation.

  • Q:

Can this medication make my dog's eye look like it has a film over it?
Asked on 1/12/2014 by susandv from California, United States

    1 answer

    • A:

      Susan,

The manufacturer does not report this as a side effect or a common observation upon administration. Speak with your veterinarian about possible causes for a cloudy film if this does not resolve after the drops are discontinued.
