Paxon Cranberry Extract

Dogs with chronic urinary tract or bladder infections can benefit from Paxon Cranberry Extract, a nutritional supplement, which contains antioxidants that slow the growth of infection-causing bacteria.

  • Promotes urinary tract health in dogs
  • Concentrated cranberry extract without unwanted compounds
  • Beef flavored chewable tablets for easy dosing

Urinary tract and bladder infections are caused by bacteria that stick to the lining of the urinary tract. Research has proven that powerful antioxidants called proanthocyanidins (PACs) actually reduce the adhesion of the bacteria. Cranberries are full of healthful PACs and each Paxon Cranberry Extract tablet for dogs contains 100 mg of concentrated cranberry extract including 30 mg of A-type PACs for the best urinary tract health. Plus, Paxon’s patented extraction process ensures that the tablets don’t contain unwanted oxalic acid or sugars.  Each Paxon Cranberry Extract contains the same amount of PACs as a glass of cranberry juice – but in a small, chewable, beef flavored tablet your dog will love.  See what pet parents are saying about Paxon Cranberry Extract, just click on the “Reviews” tab above.

  • Q:

My 13 week puppy is on clavamox 250 mg twice a day for a UTI. Can she also take Paxon while on the antibiotic?
Asked on 1/23/2014 by Wisnid53 from San Antonio, TX, United States

    1 answer

    • A:

Paxon is a cranberry extract supplement used to benefit urinary tract health. There are no reported drug interactions between Paxon and Clavomox therapy and they may be given at the same time. If possible symptoms from the UTI (urinary tract infection) still persist after Clavamox therapy is finished contact your veterinarian for further medical advice.

  • Q:

What is the difference between cranberry extract and cranberry plus?
    Asked on 12/1/2013 by Maryann

    1 answer

    • A:

      Maryann,

Both Paxon and Cranberry Plus contain cranberry extract - Paxon contains 100mg and Cranberry Plus contains 210 mg.  The Cranberry Plus also contains: 105mg of Echinacea Purpuirea, 34mg of Oregon Grape Root, and 34mg of Sodium Ascorbate (Vitamin C).  Your pet's veterinarian can help you decide which, if any, supplement might be right for your pet.

Life saver! Great Value!

Comments about Vetoquinol Paxon (Cranberry Extract):

I started my dog on Paxon tablets over 6 months ago and it has been wonderful. My dog has an immune compromising condition and was, therefor, getting bladder infections extremely often. They were a hassle for us and painful for him. My Vet recommended that I start him on Paxon and we haven't had a bladder infection since. We recently ran out of Paxon tablets and couldn't get more for almost a week. After being off of them for 5 days, he started to get another infection. So, it just confirmed for me that it really is the Paxon that has made the difference. He is an extremely picky eater. So, we have to hide them in canned food. He doesn't just eat them on his food, but it's a small price to pay. I highly recommend this product for pets suffering from frequent uti's and this price is very competitive.

Didn't help with my dog's urinary frequency

Comments about Vetoquinol Paxon (Cranberry Extract):

I bought this at the suggestion of my vet to help my senior dog with her urinary frequency. It didn't help at all with that, but it did stop my other dog from eating her stool (must make it distasteful) so I'm buying it now just for that purpose!
