The manufacturer recommends a 7-day course of treatment, however the prescribed duration of treatment depends on many factors and this decision is best made by a veterinarian. It is important to verify that the eardrum is not perforated prior to application of Otomax. Possible adverse effects of this medication include minor, local reactions such as stinging, burning, itching, rash and swelling.
Otomax is only available as an ointment, but it is available in two different types of packages: a 7.5gm tube, a 15gm tube, a 15gm bottle and a 30gm bottle. The bottle would be better for applying drops of ointment and the tube would be better for applying lines of the product.

(Our home's room temperature routinely exceeds 76 degrees at this time of year). Given that this product should be stored between 36 and 77 degrees... (1) is the effectiveness of the product reduced when it cannot be stored at this temperature? (2) if the product is ineffective at a higher temperature, can its' effectiveness be restored once the ideal temperature is reestablished?
Potency cannot be guaranteed if the medication is stored at a temperature outside of its range, so the product may lose it's effectiveness if it exceeds 77 degrees. The active drug may be degraded once it has reached that temperature, so the potency may not be restored. This product has a wide temperature range in which it can be stored. A refrigerator is usually maintained anywhere between 36-46 degrees Fahrenheit, so this medication may actually be stored in the refrigerator. However, check the consistency and range of your refrigerator's temperature to ensure its temperature lies within that range before use.
Sorry, but we do not ship outside of the United States.
