  • 26-50 lbs: 2 tablets every 4 hours or as directed by your pet's veterinarian

Suspension:

  • Puppies and kittens: 5-10 mL (1-2 TEAspoons) every 4 hours

  • Dogs and cats: 15-45 mL (1-3 TABLEspoons) every 4 hours

A manufacturer representative stated that an increase in gas experienced by your dog is not a known, documented side effect. It is recommended to follow-up with your veterinarian regarding your dog’s health and the continued usage of this medication.

Is Endosorb safe for pregnant females?
Asked on 9/4/2014 by bullies123 from Indianapolis, IN, United States

    1 answer

    • A:

Per the manufacturer, the ingredients in Endosorb have not been shown to cause problems with pregnancy however, specific data regarding the use of Endosorb during pregnancy has not been evaluated. Therefore it’s safety during pregnancy is uncertain. Speak with a veterinarian to determine the cause of the diarrhea and select an appropriate and safe treatment in a pregnant female.

  • Q:

My dog weighs 72 pounds.  How many tablets would he need every 4 hours?  The directions only go up to 50 pounds.
    Asked on 7/7/2014 by Macsmom

    1 answer

    • A:

As per the product label, a dog weighing 5 to 25 pounds should take 1 tablet every 4 hours and a dog weighing 26 to 50 pounds should take 2 tablets every 4 hours or as directed by a veterinarian. For a dog weighing over 50 pounds, we would ask that you contact your veterinarian for proper dosing.

  • Q:

How soon will my cat feel some relief after the first dose?
    Asked on 6/3/2014 by Shannon

    1 answer

    • A:

      Shannon,

Endosorb is used to treat diarrhea in dogs and cats. According to the manufacturer you may see the effect of Endosorb relatively soon, but the specific time period that it may take to observe the full effect of this medication was not provided. The manufacturer recommends 1 tablet every 4 hours (5 to 25 lb of body weight), 2 tablets every 4 hours (25 to 50 lb), or as directed by your veterinarian. The manufacturer recommends if any signs of symptom(s) present after 2 to 3 days of treatment you should contact the veterinarian. Also, an appropriate antibiotic therapy should be started if the diarrhea is associated with a bacterial infection as determined by your cat's veterinarian.

  • Q:

Is it 500 tablets for $10.99?
Asked on 3/20/2014 by Tenderfoot from Colorado

    1 answer

    • A:

Endosorb is sold per tablet at $0.17 apiece. Five hundred tablets would cost $85. The 4 ounce oral suspension is $10.99, that may have been the price at which you were looking.

    Are endosorb tablets chewable?

How soon after the first dose will my cats have some relief?

Answered on 6/3/2014 by Sloan from California, United States
    • A:

      Jesse,

The Endosorb tablets are not flavored, therefore they are intended to be swallowed whole. The Endosorb suspension is sweetened and may be a better option if your dog is showing resistance to the tablets.

Comments about PRN Endosorb:

My Siberian Husky has an extremely sensitive tummy, and suffers frequent loose stools. This makes his tummy feel better, and helps firm things up in the mean time- all with no side effects. I give them to him with a little bit of nut butter to make things more palatable.

Comments about PRN Endosorb:

I received a supply of Endosorb from my vet for an episode of severe bloody diarrhea for my chocolate lab. It was determined, following extensive testing, that she had gotten to some rotten dead animal and had a feast. The vet gave me enough Endosorb to regulate the watery stool. Worked like magic. Since that episode, there have been 2 more picnic excursions, resulting in a milder form of diarrhea. I was SO happy to find the Endosorb here. About the same price, but so much easier than dragging that wiggling pup to the vet!

Comments about PRN Endosorb:

I have a rescue collie who has a very sensitive digestive system. When his bowels get too loose, I give him Endosorb tabs for a few days or so until he gets 'back on track'. That plus a daily dose of doggie probiotic from Ark Naturals has really stabilized his system.

This product works. My almost 15 year old toy poodle takes so many meds for her heart and glaucoma that her stools are either very soft or runny.

Comments about PRN Endosorb:

My 1 year old GSD has always had a "soft poo" issue. It's not diarhea, but way softer than it should be. I've tried a number of things including probiotics, edible clay, and canned pumpkin pulp. None of these things helped. GSD's almost always have what the English call "dodgey" tummies. I've done multiple protein/carb switches. So I decided to try Endosorb and it has definitely helped firm up her poo. Right now I'm adding one tab at her evening meal. Not sure if long term usage could be an issue and I haven't discussed this with my vet, but for now it's doing the trick and I plan to continue with good results.
