What is Snout Soother?

Snout Soother is a balm for dry skin, created specifically with dog noses in mind.  It contains unrefined organic shea butter, organic hempseed oil, organic sweet almond oil, organic jojoba oil, kukui oil, candelilla wax, rosemary extract, and natural vitamin E.  The oils used in the balm provide moisturizers as well as natural sources of vitamins A, C, D, and E and essential fatty acids.  Studies have shown that rosemary extract may have anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, and is also a good source of vitamin E.  In addition, some of the oils have been shown to have a natural sunscreen effect (the Snout Soother manufacturer reports an estimated SPF of 9). The scent of the balm is mild enough that dogs won’t be bothered by the smell of the soother.  The manufacturer recommends use of Snout Soother for many conditions, including a dry, chapped, cracked, or crusty nose, hyperkeratosis, windburn prevention and extreme weather conditions, sunscreen, shiny show dog noses, discoid lupus, and brachycephalic breeds.

How to use Snout Soother: The manufacturer recommends applying 2 to 3 times per day for acute situations, including once before bedtime, if possible.  Once the dog’s nose is healed, the number of applications can be reduced.  Most pet parents notice an improvement within a couple of days.

  • Snout Soother is not generally harmful if ingested, but does contain oil derived from nuts, so parents of pets with nut allergies should use caution.

  • Snout Soother can be used on all animals.

  • Ingredients come from the US (including Hawaii), Canada, Spain, and Ghana.

Recommended application is 2-3 times per day.  Before bedtime is always preferred because this is when bodies are regenerating and healing.  Once a shiny, bright nose has been accomplished you can reduce the application frequency.  You will see a difference in your dog's nose within the first few days.

Snout Soother's 100% Natural Ingredients:

  • Natural Vitamin E
  • Shea Nut Butter
  • Organic Hempseed Oil
  • Sweet Almond Oil
  • Rosemary Extract
  • Candelilla Wax
  • Kukui Nut Oil
  • Jojoba Oil

Snout Soother is made with completely safe and edible ingredients.  The primary ingredients are nut oils which taste good to most dogs and they will attempt to lick it off, which is perfectly normal.  Snout Soother still does its job even if it is licked off, especially at bed time.

Since it is always best to let the balm penetrate a bit to let it work it's magic, we suggest distracting your dog with a toy, treat or belly rubs while applying.

Snout Soother can also be used on dogs' paws and nose folds.

If your pet has nut allergies, please use caution and check with your veterinarian before application.
