Benzoyl peroxide shampoo is an antibacterial, keratolytic and follicular flushing shampoo useful in the topical treatment of pyoderma, foliculitis and seborrheic skin conditions in of dogs, cats and horses. Benzoyl peroxide shampoo opens and flushes hair follicles and degreases oily coats. Moisturizers counteract the drying effects of the oxidizing benzoyl peroxide. The shampoo may temporarily increase scaliness, but this will lessen with continued bathing. Benzoyl peroxide shampoo is available in 2.5% or 3% strengths, and is marketed in several sizes. What is this product?
