Adequan Canine

Prescription Adequan is an injectable medication administered by veterinarians to treat the symptoms of non-infectious degenerative or traumatic arthritis in dogs.  This medicine eases pain and swelling while also treating the disease.

  • Eases symptoms of traumatic and non-infectious arthritis
  • For dogs only
  • Intramuscular injectable medicine administered by your veterinarian

Adequan not only treats symptoms of certain types of arthritis, it also modifies the disease. The active ingredient, polysulfated glycosaminoglycan, is a Disease-Modifying Osteoarthritis Drug (DMOAD). This powerful, FDA-approved agent reduces symptoms and treats the disease by reducing joint damage and repairing damaged cartilage.  Because this medication is formulated as an intramuscular injection, you must make an appointment with your pet's veterinarian who will administer the injection.  Your dog may require several injections over a specific period of time.
